Every conference comes with a few frequently asked questions. We've translated the most common ones into plain English and gathered them here for your convenience.

When and where is CTTIC 2026?

The CTTIC 2026 Conference will take place at the University of Regina in Regina, Saskatchewan, from October 2nd to the 4th.

Who should attend? Or is this conference for me?

The conference is open to translators, interpreters, terminologists, language professionals, students, educators, researchers, and anyone interested in the language services industry. If you have a passion for languages and you find yourself often thinking in different languages, come join us!

How do I register?

Registration details and online registration links are available on the conference website. Just a quick FYI. Once you click register, you will be redirected to create an Oxford Abstracts account. The CTTIC Conference uses the Oxford Abstracts platform for managing registrations; when registering, you will be prompted to create an account with Oxford Abstracts. Sorry for any inconvenience this might create, but we are so happy to start planting with you

What is included in the registration fee?

Registration includes access to conference sessions, workshops, exhibits, scheduled networking activities, refreshments, and conference materials. Specific inclusions will be listed during registration.

Are the Groundbreak Dinner and the Gala Dinner included?

No dinners are included in the conference fee. They are available as optional Add-ons on the Registration page.

Where should I stay?

A block of rooms is available at the Atlas Hotel.

Can I share my room with somebody else?

Of course. If you'd like to share your room with somebody else, please let us know, and we'll put you in touch with somebody else who has the same idea.

Is breakfast included in the hotel rate?

No, breakfast is not included.

What is the hotel rate?

As a partner of the University of Regina, the Atlas Hotel provided a special rate of $149.95/night/room + 14% taxes (5% GST, 6% PST, 3% tourism tax) to everyone who books using the block code above.

How many rooms are reserved for the conference?

A block of 20 rooms has been reserved for the conference. Once they are gone, we can't guarantee the special rate. Book now!

What type of rooms are available?

The block of rooms includes rooms with two queen beds and one king bed.

Does the hotel have a pool?

The hotel has a water park. Pack your swimsuit!

How do I get from the airport to the hotel?

The Atlas Hotel is approximately 8 minutes from Regina International Airport by taxi, rideshare, or rental car. For those more adventurous, public transportation is available (approximately a 39-minute ride). If you are in the mood for a walk, the hotel is about 1 hour away from the airport.

How do I get from the airport to the conference venue?

The University of Regina is approximately 15 minutes from Regina International Airport by taxi, rideshare, or rental car.

How do I get from the airport to the conference venue?

The University of Regina is less than 10 minutes away by car; for those willing to smell the flowers, the walk is about 30-40 minutes long through a residential neighbourhood. A shuttle service might be provided.

Do I have to pay for the parking at the University of Regina?

Yes, the parking at the University of Regina is paid parking, with hourly rates between $2 and $3.5. After 5:00 p.m. and on Saturdays and Sundays the parking is free of charge.

Will there be opportunities for networking?

Absolutely! Between sessions, meals, receptions, and the Dinners, there will be plenty of opportunities to connect with colleagues from across Canada.

Can students attend?

Yes. Students are encouraged to attend, and special student rates are available.

Will exhibitors and sponsors be present?

We definitely hope so. Conference sponsors and exhibitors will have opportunities to showcase services, products, technologies, and career opportunities.

Can I present at the conference?

Do you have something interesting to present? The call for papers and presentations is now open. Submission guidelines and deadlines are available on the conference website.

Will conference sessions address AI and emerging technologies?

Yes. As the language profession continues to evolve, sessions will explore AI, technology, ethics, professional standards, and the future of language services.
